Featuring Prog Gnostic, Tripsovercliff and Batwatchers

Rags Records and Lovin’ Cup present an evening of original music by Rags artists Prog Gnostic, Tripsovercliff, and Batwatchers.

Prog Gnostic is a genre-spanning, mindbending exploration of instrumental and vocal textures that’s been described as minimal maximalist post-prog ambient-existential jazzpunk. Based in the northeastern US, Prog Gnostic is multibassist Adam Wilcox, multikeyboardist George Kastrinos, drummer and Time Lord Simon Bjarning, and guitarist Robert Kulik.

Tripsovercliff is the brainchild of Kyle Williams (of the local band, Sub Sentry). Part alt-rock, part EDM, Tripsovercliff layers piles of vocals over rich soundscapes with an ever-present dance beat. For this show, Prog Gnostic will fill in for Williams’ studio devices.

Batwatchers is a duo featuring singer/songwriter Lucinda Monder and guitarist Sam Lorenzo. Not exactly your average folk duo, Batwatchers puts Monder’s poetic, edgy lyrics into fascinating melodies over a bed of two electric guitars.
